Abstract

The song is the genre of literature that belongs purely to the subcontinent, and literature is the authentic medium through which man expresses his feelings and emotions. The lyrics/songwriting (Geet Nigari) in Intezar Hussain's novel "Basti" have been studied in this research. This lyricism stands out for him in two respects. One is prose lyric writing, and the other is rhymed lyric writing. Prose poetry refers to the prose phrases and rhymes that meet the definition of spontaneous poetry due to their unique style and which they consciously wrote to reveal the culture of the period. This research study also includes the cultural and analytical study of these songs and the message that Intezar Hussain wants to convey to his readers from the glimpses of history.
