The symbol of the " Desert " in four representatives of modern Urdu ghazal

In Urdu Ghazal, symbolic meaning has been of particular importance in the style of expression. If we look at the earthly manifestations of the above-mentioned symbolic universe, the symbol of the desert is very prominent.
In the twentieth century, the names of Hasrat, Fani, Asghar and Jagar are remembered as the four elements of Urdu Ghazal. The four elements of Urdu Ghazal have used the symbol of the desert in different ways. Hasrat Mohani uses the symbol of the desert in the sense of loneliness and wandering. While in Asghar Gondvi, the classical color is prominent in the symbol of the desert. Just as classical poets have used the symbol of the desert to describe the state of love and madness. Similarly, Asghar Gondvi has used the symbol of the desert as a metaphor for love. In Fani Badauni, the symbol of the desert has been used in the sense of fear, horror, horror and vastness. In Jagar too, a classical tradition is seen in the symbol of the desert. However, Jagar has also used the desert lily as a symbol, which he takes as his own.
