Generative AI is reshaping creative writing by enhancing individual expression through advanced tools, allowing for rapid and innovative content creation. This technological advancement, however, introduces a paradox: while AI boosts personal creativity, it may lead to a scarcity of overall creative diversity. The reliance on pre-existing data patterns in AI models can result in homogenized content, reducing the variety and uniqueness in artistic works. This study employs qualitative content analysis to examine AI-generated creative writing across various genres. Utilizing creativity theory and post-structuralism, the research investigates how AI impacts the balance between personal innovation and collective novelty. Thematic coding will identify recurring patterns in AI-generated content, and the study will compare these with human-generated works to assess the potential trade-off between enhanced individual expression and diminished creative diversity.
