Shaukat Siddiqui's third novel "Char Dewari" is worthy of study in the context of the reflection of Lucknow civilization. Shaukat Siddiqui has described the society and civilization of Lucknow in detail in this novel. The novelist has described the superstitions in Lucknow culture, food and drink, sports spectacles, color relays, prostitutes' dens and the customs and traditions of marriages and other ceremonies in Lucknow, and also described the social status quo.
