Abstract

In Urdu literature Pakistani women have been contributing their feminist skill and sensitivity to poetry, fiction, novel, drama, travelogue analytic and other creative writing. The paper seeks to offer a reading of Tahira Iqbal Novel "Garan". The setting of her most stories in rural Punjab. She write about the constant struggle between villagers and the feudal system which still hunts Pakistan. In her work, she takes local Punjabi words and infuses term in Urdu. Her stories are filled with local idiom and ethos of the places. She resides in "Garan" Novel is about the lives of potohari women whose husband, have left the village to work in other countries Their children grow in the absence of their father. She zealously wrote about social equality of women in potohari society. The methodology focused on textual analysis to reveal the feminist concept of her. She spoke of sexuality, abortion, lesbianism and desire of waiting women for their husband.
