Abstract

Mehmood Sham's novel "Anjam Bakhair" is released this year (2023). Mehmood Sham, who is author of several books, has been associated with the field of journalism for almost six decades. This novel of Mehmood Sham is unique in the history of Urdu fiction in the sense that it is first time when the journalistic world is presented in this genre with such a high rate of development. Mehmood Sham has set plot of the novel based on the TV channel "Jugnoo" and three characters Sidra, Khalil and Ahmed Hammad. Through these characters, Mehmood Sham presented the political and social life, journalism of Karachi and its neighborhoods, terrorism, role of mafias and life of a common man. Later, this novel spread out of the journalistic circle of Karachi and spread across the country. Efforts have been made to explain the problems of terrorism, lack of development and social problems in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, FATA and Balochistan in particular. The novelist has gone one step further and included America, China, Afghanistan and India in the context of Global Village. One cannot avoid involvement of these countries in the political and social relations and economic development and decline of Pakistan. The novelist has adopted a realistic approach in the novel on these issues.

In the article under discussion, we have researched and critically analyzed all these issues.
