Abstract

The new Urdu poetry has established its own identity in terms of themes, diction and subject matter. In particular, the Urdu poem has developed its various forms after 9/11, and the suffering in this contemporary human life is represented succinctly by this new poem. This form of poetry embraces diverse themes  openly, and challenge the literary status quo in terms of style, diction, form as well and sensibility. In this tradition, Zahid Imroz has contributed a significant body of work. This article offers a critical review of his latest book ''Jalay Howy Asman Ky Parinday''. His poems can help us understand the chaos and complexity of daily life. In perticular, his poems capture the themes such as social, political and religious hypocrisy.
